Our Story

Our Story

Covenant Church began as a vision for a new gospel-centered church in St. Cloud in May 2025. Since then, a group of believers has faithfully gathered each Sunday evening for worship, prayer, fellowship, and the study of God's Word. More recently, we have begun holding monthly Sunday morning worship services as God continues to grow and strengthen our church family.


We are excited to announce the next step in this journey. Beginning November 15, Covenant Church will gather for weekly Sunday morning worship services at 9:30 a.m. As we move into this new season, we invite you to join us as we seek to glorify Christ, grow in His Word, and build a community rooted in the truth and hope of the gospel.

We are thrilled to begin meeting at Iglesia Casa de Bendición on Canoe Creek Road in St. Cloud as we enter this exciting new chapter in the life of Covenant Church. Through this partnership, English-speaking and Spanish-speaking ministries will serve side-by-side, united by a shared commitment to the gospel and the mission of making disciples in St. Cloud.


Beginning November 15, 2026 Covenant Church will gather for worship each Sunday at 9:30 a.m., while Iglesia Casa de Bendición will hold Spanish-language worship service at 11:00 a.m. Although each congregation will worship in its own language, we are grateful for the opportunity to minister together under one roof and demonstrate the unity that believers share in Christ. You are invited to attend either service you like.


We believe this partnership reflects the beauty of God's kingdom, bringing together people from different backgrounds and cultures to reach our community with the hope of the gospel. We look forward to seeing how God will use both congregations to make His name known throughout St. Cloud and beyond.



Membership

Membership


At Covenant Church, membership is more than joining an organization. It is a commitment to walk together as a family of believers under the lordship of Christ and the authority of God's Word. Our Discovering Covenant process begins with a membership class led by the elders, where you'll learn about our history, doctrine, leadership convictions, worship philosophy, and vision for ministry while having an opportunity to ask questions. 

Afterward, you'll meet informally with an elder to share your testimony of faith and discuss your spiritual journey. Those who have not yet been baptized as believers will be encouraged to take that important step of obedience. The process concludes with a congregational reading of our Church Covenant and the signing of a covenant commitment. From there, we invite you to fully participate in the life of Covenant Church through worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and mission as we grow together in Christ


Sermons

Sermons

We seek to teach the whole counsel of God.

We preach expository sermons. Typically, we go through books of the Bible, verse-by-verse and our sermons are 35-45 minutes long.

Our sermons also have an overt accent on how the Scripture passage points to Christ, and every sermon leads directly into communion; one main question we ask each week is: “What do we see in this text that gives me yet another great reason to remember Jesus?”

We are an elder-led and congregationally-governed church.

Our aim is for our church to be led and ordered the way God intended for churches to be led and ordered. We are led by elders/pastors that are called to humbly lead the church and are responsible to help God’s people spiritually flourish.

We also believe that the church members have significant responsibilities in guarding the purity of the church.


Communion

Communion

We believe every element of the Sunday morning worship service ought to point to Jesus Christ. All of our sermons examine one passage of Scripture, but the sermons have an accent on how the specific passage at-hand points to Christ; and each sermon flows directly into communion.

We use gluten-free unleavened bread to represent the body of Christ and we use juice to represent the blood of Christ.

We are committed to maintaining streamlined processes for new people to acquire info about our church and to move toward meaningful church connection and involvement. We don’t want anyone ever guessing as to what their “Next Steps” ought to be.

We’ve got lots of great stuff happening. Explore the life of our church including our upcoming events and service opportunities. Our elders and teachers are available at any time to discuss opportunities for you to be involved.


We align with the following distinctives. 

Baptist—We believe that born-again Christians are welcomed into membership through baptism upon a credible profession of faith. Our local church is an autonomous entity, but we voluntarily cooperate with the Southern Baptist Convention for the purpose of international missions, church planting, and future pastors in their seminary education. 

Reformed—We hold to a historically reformed, baptistic theology—among which we fully affirm the “Five Solas” of the Protestant Reformation: that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone.   

Elder-Led—We believe the Bible teaches that every local church is to be led by a plurality of male elders (1 Timothy 5:17-18, Titus 1:5, 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9, 1 Timothy 5:19-20, Acts 20:16-38, 1 Peter 5:1-4, Hebrews 13:17). An elder is synonymous in the Bible with “pastor”, “bishop”, and “overseer.” The primary work of an elder is, “to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesian 4:12). This is achieved primarily through a faithful expository teaching ministry of God’s Word. 

Decon-Served—We believe the Bible teaches that every local church should be served by deacons. Deacons must meet the qualifications according to 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and who devote themselves to the unity of the church. The Bible is clear that deacons are not elders, nor are churches to be governed by a committee or board of deacons. Biblical deacons are those who do whatever is necessary to allow the elders to accomplish their God-given calling of shepherding and teaching the church according to Acts 6.
